Hypothermia is not the only thing the homeless have to worry about living outdoors especially in Florida. The summer can bring heat exhaustion or heat stroke. This is when summer bags are vital.
Summer Bags are the summer focus on bringing comfort to the homeless.
The contents can include:
Small blanket (for cool nights or can be used as a pillow)
Flip Flops
Lip Balm
Sunscreen
Toothpaste
Toothbrush
Socks (needed year-round)
Toiletries
Ball cap or Visor
Sunglasses
Granola Bars
Water (very vital)
Packed into a large drawstring bag. Just like the winter bags and blankets, your group can partner with us in collecting the items and/or coordinate a Packing Party. If you prefer to donate the cost of the bag and delivery, the suggested cost is $25.
